New Trainings Available

CAEH hosts training sessions that provide practical strategies that you can apply to your work. If your community would like to request a training, fill out this form and someone from our team will be in touch!

Here are the new trainings being offered:

Cultivating Change with Complex Clients
People experiencing homelessness may be navigating intersecting challenges related to mental health, substance use, trauma, physical health, cognitive functioning, and other areas of life. Staff can become caught in a cycle of responding to immediate crises, with little space to help people move toward longer-term goals.

This interactive training gives participants a practical, multi-faceted approach to supporting change. Participants leave with concrete tools they can apply immediately, along with renewed confidence and a clearer sense of direction.

Sustaining Success Through Substance Use
Substance use can have a significant effect on health, relationships, housing stability, and engagement with services. Many staff receive introductory instruction on substances, routes of administration, or overdose response, but less guidance on how to sustain progress when substance use occurs, particularly in housing settings.

This training moves beyond the basics and helps participants prepare for and respond to the effects of substance use without losing sight of housing stability, participant choice, dignity, and long-term goals. Drawing on motivational interviewing, trauma-informed practice, strengths-based practice, and harm reduction, the session provides immediately useful strategies for sustaining success through setbacks and change.
